DSTNDSTN

Booking, without a fifth of the room in the middle

The 15 to 30% a booking site takes from a hotel is already inside the price you pay. DSTN will be the same booking at 2 to 5%.

Search, hold, pay

Pick where you are going, hold it while you decide, and pay in travel credit from the same screen — all-in fare settled before you commit.

In designPhase 2
Online travel is concentrated in a handful of booking sites, and the 15 to 30% they take from a hotel is already inside the price you pay. DSTN will be the same booking with a 2 to 5% platform fee, a hotel that keeps the rest, and a reservation that ends up as something you own rather than a confirmation email. The all-in fare — tax and the local tourism levy included — will be settled before you commit rather than revealed after.

How it will work

Step 1 of 4

Explore

You will search open markets at the all-in price, with tax and the local levy already inside the number.

You will search the markets that are open, with the all-in price up front — tax and the local tourism levy inside the number rather than appearing at the end. The reviews and the photographs beside it will come from stays that actually happened.

Why it's different

  • An OTA take of 15 to 30% does not come out of the hotel's margin. It is already inside the price you were quoted. DSTN's platform fee will be 2 to 5%, which is what makes a lower all-in price arithmetic rather than a promotion.

  • A review is only worth reading if the person writing it actually went. A DSTN review will need the Booking NFT from the stay it describes and a check-in at the property, so the question of who wrote it will have an answer rather than a guess.

  • Non-refundable inventory has no second-hand market, which is why a cancelled trip is a total loss today. A Booking NFT will be transferable, so the room will be able to go and find somebody else instead.

Own your booking

A Booking NFT held in your wallet, not in an account you can be locked out of. It proves you stayed, and it can be passed on.

Further out, and not in the first release

  • Location-verified streams, with the room on screen bookable from inside them. Further out — it would come after booking works, not instead of it.

  • Rooms and seats as tokens an operator could distribute and a traveller could hold. Further out, and gated on partner agreements rather than on code.

  • A Solana Pay QR code at the café counter, so a DSTN wallet would be useful between trips as well as on one. Further out — and the travel credit stays booking-only either way.
