DSTNDSTN
All three ways to partner

Put your destination on DSTN

Commission on every booking made in your country leaves it. A platform charging 2 to 5% instead of the 15 to 30% an OTA takes would keep more of each visitor's spend with your hotels, your guides and your drivers.

Commission on every booking made in your country leaves it. A platform charging 2 to 5% instead of the 15 to 30% an OTA takes would keep more of each visitor's spend with your hotels, your guides and your drivers — and would give you a read on arrivals that does not depend on asking a foreign booking site nicely. We are looking for the first destinations to build that with, in the open, with their input on what the data should actually show.

The gap this is about

A booking site's commission, today

15 to 30%

Taken out of the room before you are quoted a price.

What DSTN intends to charge

2 to 5%

A platform fee, not a commission. Nothing is bookable yet.

Percentage of the booking value. The upper figure is the market range an operator pays a large channel today; the lower is DSTN’s intended platform fee. It is an intention, not a rate card, and nothing on DSTN is bookable yet.

How it will work

Step 1 of 3

We talk about your destination

A first call about the segments you want to grow and which operators would need to be in the room.

A first call about which segments you are trying to grow, what your current reporting does not tell you, and which operators inside your country would need to be in the room.

What you would get

  • Aggregate visitor analytics — distribution, spend by sector, predicted crowding. Designed to carry no personally identifiable information at all, rather than to hold it and promise not to look.

  • The gap between a 2 to 5% platform fee and an OTA's 15 to 30% is money that would stay with the operators in your country instead of leaving it with the commission.

  • Your destination in front of an audience that discovers trips on a feed and will book them in the same place.

  • Early partner destinations will get priority onboarding and a direct line into how this works in their country.

Questions

Including the ones where the honest answer is that it has not been decided.

No. Nothing is bookable on DSTN today, in any market. Two of the eleven anchor markets are loading now and the other nine are in preparation, each needing its own compliance dossier and a local operating partner. An agreement signed now is about being in the first cohort, not about going live next quarter.
At the first stage, a conversation. We are not asking an authority to sign a budget line or an exclusivity before there is a product to point at. What is genuinely useful early is access to the operators you already convene, and your view on what a dashboard would have to show to be worth opening.
The analytics are specified as aggregate from the start — distributions and totals, not people. That is a design constraint rather than a policy promise, because a system that never collects an identifier cannot later be asked to hand one over. The detail will be in writing before any data moves.

Apply

A handful of fields. Everything after them is a conversation rather than a form.

Optional.

The country or territory you represent. Two of the eleven are loading now; the rest are in preparation.

What you would want to see on a dashboard, and who inside the authority should be in the conversation.
